More then just Martial arts...
Training is focused around self-defense. Many martial arts teach fighting techniques for self-defense, we base training off scenarios to mimic the combat conditions of a criminal assault allowing students to learn not only common criminal tactics but counter-tactics and how to analyze one's environment.
More then training for a cage, were people are never attacked and less of the dogmatic rituals of Asian Traditions. The Omoto Ryu Black Dragon Dojo seeks to be functional and practical.
You aren't relying on out-dated traditions but, a modern martial art with a regular training methods from a blend of sources. This makes the most of common martial arts principles and philosophies while allowing students to use more then just outdated training methods, while keeping training methods from traditional sources that are not outdated.
Combined with modern US military tactics and training, the Omoto Ryu Black Dragon Dojo seeks to address modern weapons, as well as, the traditional through two unique styles; Street Focus Jujitsu and Black Dragon Ninjitsu.
Martial arts is more then just fighting techniques. Martial arts includes the study of strategy, tactical principles, and that places the traditional role of martial arts at five ranges not the commonly sited three ranges by competition fighters. These older philosophies are combined and compared to modern Sociology and Psychology to allow a student to deescalate and control conflicts without the need for physical violence. The Omoto Ryu Black Dragon Dojo teaches all five ranges of combat.
